2013 ACM Nominations

All right country music fan, the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards announced their nominees Wednesday morning.

“Springsteen” loving Eric Church leads the pack with 7 nominations while one of the scenes hottest rising stars, Hunter Hayes, closely follows with 6. The leading ladies are not to far behind. Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift both picked up five nominations.

Eric Church picks up nominations for Male Vocalist of the Year and  Album of the Year, this is the second year that Church’s album “Chief” has been nominated in this category. His number 1 hit “Springsteen” is nominated for Single of the Year and Song of the Year, where Church is nominated as both the artists and composer. Church’s current single “Creepin'” is nominated for Video of the Year. He is also nominated alongside Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan for Vocal Event of the Year for their performance of “The Only Way I Know.”

Hunter Hayes picked up a nomination for New Male Vocalist of the Year, a nomination he also received at last years ACM Awards. Hayes’ number 1 song “Wanted” picked up the rest of Hayes’ nominations. The music video is nominated for Video of the Year. Hayes also received double nominations for the song in the Single of the Year and Song of the Year categories, as both artist and producer as well as artist and composer respectively.

The ACM Award’s most prestigious award, Entertainer of the Year, doesn’t look too different from last year’s nominees. This year, reigning champion Taylor Swift will compete with Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan and married couple Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert.

Album of the year nominees include  Eric Church’s “Chief,” Carrie Underwood’s “Blown Away,” Taylor Swift’s “Red,” Luke Bryan’s “Tailgates & Tanlines” and Little Big Town’s “Tornado.
